Do you have trouble finding a good exercise routine? I love running at the park or going to the gym, but sometimes I like to mix it up. And this time of year, even stepping outside is hard so I like to find free video workouts that I can do from home. Today I’m sharing a few of my favorites!
Strength & Flexibility: Yoga by Candace
This is a 30 minute vinyasa flow. Vinyasa is my favorite type of yoga because it involves enough movement that I don’t get bored, but is still relaxing. This video is good for people familiar with yoga, but I think it could be done by a beginner as well. Candace’s channel provides other options if you prefer experimenting.
I like this video for a few reasons:
1) Candace clearly explains the movements, but doesn’t talk excessively.
2) It is a workout but I don’t get super sweaty so I don’t have to shower afterwards (win!)
3) There’s a cute dog sleeping in the corner of the video frame. 🙂
Cardio: Fitness Blender
Okay, this one is KILLER but an absolutely fantastic workout. It’s a lot of cardio plus body toning exercises. It requires no equipment and includes a warm-up and cool-down. I’d suggest having a good playlist on in the background to distract you from your pain. 😉
For more videos, check out the Fitness Blender’s website. They have a wide variety of exercises and you can search by length, calorie burn, muscle focus, or equipment available to you. It’s awesome!
This one is fun! The workouts combine pop music with classic Pilates routines. Pilates is similar to yoga with a little less emphasis on flexibility and a little more emphasis on core strength. It’s great for abs, obliques, back, butt, etc. Cassey, the creator/instructor, has built one of the biggest fitness channels on YouTube and she’s super energetic, which makes it fun to follow along.
She also has a blog, which provides printable workouts, healthy recipes, and workout motivation. I just started THIS challenge. It’s a 4-week free course that guides you through a series of videos aimed at beginners. I’m really excited about it!
