Happy Wednesday, friends! We are halfway through the week! It’s been a pretty good week so far. I’m taking care of my mom’s dog for her while she’s out of town, and I have two cats of my own, so it’s always fun to have so many animals around. But it gets a little crazy! My boyfriend heads out of town tonight for a wedding and I’ll be joining him on Friday. He’s in the wedding so he’s going early to help set up. Should be a fun weekend!
The only bad part about this week is that we’ve had a return of the summer heat! Ugh, it’s so hot. We had a bit of fall weather and I was already starting to get in “fall fashion mode” so it’s been a little difficult to transition back! Especially for work clothes.
My solution is an outfit like this one: cool fabrics, light layers, and an autumn color palette.
I paired a black pencil skirt with a breezy printed tank top, then topped it off with a lightweight cardigan. My top has a delicate floral pattern with colors of red, peach, white, and light green. I really love the light colors against a dark background. I used my green cardigan to bring out the subtle green accents on my top. Together, the colors have a distinct fall feel. But I think it’s versatile enough to be worn any time of year!
I used a wide striped belt to cinch in my waist. Because the cardigan is long, I really needed to make sure there was still definition and shape underneath. I usually use skinnier belts, but I loved the look of a wide belt here. It draws attention! I also added a small diamond ring and pulled the outfit together with black pumps.
This outfit makes it so easy to transition from summer to fall. Cool and comfortable, but the colors are right on trend with the new season.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, and what tricks you use to make the season transition easier! Thanks for reading!
