Buffalo check, the two-color oversized square pattern, is as popular as ever. Usually seen in black and red, it also comes in any number of other color combinations. I found this black and white one last fall and got a lot of wear out of it, both by itself and layered. I planned on putting it away for the warmer months. But I pulled it out again last week because I realized it could just as easily be a summer shirt if I style it right. It’s lightweight so would remain cool and comfortable. And because it’s black and white, it is very versatile. For this outfit, I paired it with black shorts, striped flats, and sunglasses.
I kept the color pallet simple because I was mixing patterns. Just black and white. Pattern mixing is easy if everything is kept within the same color scheme.
I completed the outfit with this unassuming belt (but look at those cute little scalloped edges!) and my go-to sunglasses.
