This was my face when it started SNOWING while taking these pictures! Eeekk! I love the snow. We didn’t get much, but it was enough to prod us to stay inside for the rest of the night and watch Christmas movies instead of going out. By the next morning, it was mostly gone. But I loved every second of it while it was here!
Today I’m sharing a work-appropriate look for the holidays. This can really be worn any time of the year, but I think the pops of red just make it look so festive! Since my sweater and heels add the color, I kept the rest of my outfit fairly toned down: black pants and a striped tee peeking out from my sweater. For the cold weather, I also added my favorite black coat and a striped beanie.
At this point in my life, most of the clothes I buy are work clothes. I have a hard time justifying buying clothes that I wear ONLY on weekends, you know? That said, I really love pieces that can also be worn in more casual settings. This sweater is one of those items. I wear it on weekends with jeans, then dress it up with heels for the office. I like the lace detail on the front that adds an extra touch to a plain pullover. My sweater is from Banana Republic but it’s old so I can’t link it. But if you happen to be looking for a similar sweater, I linked some lace-front ones here…
I was glad I had chosen a warm outfit when the snow started! This is one of my favorite coats. It is warm but not puffy or too big, and I love that the stand-up collar is not quite your typical pea-coat collar. I got this coat last year, but I saw it again a couple weeks ago at h&m. And there were so many color options! I was ready to buy it in every color– that’s how much I love it!
The rest of my outfit is linked below, including my cute beanie, red pumps, my striped shirt (perfect for layering!), and my go-to black pants.
I love that this outfit works for the office on a normal day, or for a holiday party. My office party is this Friday, so I might be wearing this festive outfit again then!
