Ankle boots and booties are a wardrobe staple for most of the year. While many of them are heeled, there are also TONS of options for those who prefer flats or lower heels. There is something for everyone! Today, via reader request, I am rounding up the best low-heeled booties based on price and buyer reviews. As we near the end of the season, many of these are on sale so now is the time to buy! You’ll still get plenty of wear out of them for several more months, and they are sure to still be in style by next fall.
If you’re new to ankle boots, these classic ones should be a great starting point. The simplicity of the design means it is remarkably versatile, and the heel height is just under 2 inches, making it easy to walk in but still polished looking. Almost 2000 reviewers commented on its comfort and wearability. The brand itself is known for its high quality craftsmanship and thick insoles.
This suede bootie is similar to the Sam Edelman bootie, but is also waterproof! The other main differences are a slightly narrower ankle opening and a 1.5″ heel height. Reviewers like the double zipper, the flexible insole, and the fact that it really is waterproof. Comes in black and taupe, or in gray HERE.
I think these are so cool! The soft leather border is something I haven’t seen on ankle boots before. The split shaft is very on trend, but is still high enough to allow socks. Reviews state that it is comfortable, fashionable, and unique. However, there does seem to be some debate about sizing. Read the reviews, look at the size charts, and remember that you can order a few pairs to try on and send back the ones you don’t fit. This retailer always offers free shipping and free returns.
Definitely the most budget-friendly pair on the list! These booties have laser cut details, but it’s a small enough pattern that you can still wear socks with them which is great. That’s a hard to find feature! And they also have the look of a split shaft, but there’s an elastic panel which 1) hides socks, 2) adds a little warmth, and 3) makes them super easy to slip on and off. There were tons of great reviews on this boot and lots of pictures from buyers as well.
These had some fantastic reviews from people who had had foot surgery or had other foot issues and were having a hard time finding cute shoes. I’d say that is a selling point! These have a low shaft and come with a memory foam insole. And I love the perforated back, very cute!
How fun are these?! If you want more colorful booties, these are for you. They come in the deep red color shown here, a bright yellow, and a very pretty light grey. They only have a handful of reviews so far, but most of the feedback is positive. I think the stretchy sides would make them easy to put on and take off, and definitely make them comfortable for walking.
Another waterproof pair, and probably my favorite on the list. I already ordered them! In addition to being waterproof, they are insulated, and the reviews say the fuzzy felt lining does keep feet very warm. Other positive aspects from the reviews are its heel height and that they’re easy to walk in. They come in SIX different colors, so definitely check these out.
You might be noticing a pattern in some of my favorite brands. 😉 These are the same brand as #3. I love these particular ones because of the woven strap vamp. I looked forever to find a retailer that had most sizes in stock and finally found it at a surprising store! Anyway, because they’re new there are no reviews on this site, but trust me that I read tons of other reviews on these exact booties, and people have nothing but good things to say. I think they would make the perfect transition into spring and be great again for the fall!
Booties should definitely become a go-to part of your wardrobe. They are easy to dress up or down and can be worn with so many different outfits. If you’re in the market for a pair, I hope you found some good ones in this list!
