I can’t believe it’s already November– where has this fall gone?!? The weather is making it seem like we just skipped right to winter. This week Kentucky is seeing temperatures in the 40s! Luckily, we did get a small window of perfectly autumnal weather last weekend. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the day outside at a nearby apple orchard. We made our way through a corn maze, went for a hay ride, picked apples, and just enjoyed wandering through the fields and their little store. It was so much fun!
Another fun thing: you can now shop my outfits at the bottom of this post! I do my best to find exact or similar pieces in a variety of prices. You can also shop my instagram posts here. I’m super excited about these new features on my blog!
I chose my outfit based on the weather and knowing that we’d be doing a lot of walking. I wore my favorite navy t-shirt dress. (It’s very old and showing its age a little bit so I’m on the hunt for a new one!) I layered with a chunky dark green cardigan and a colorful scarf. I love how the scarf brings out the blue and green base but also brings in other fall colors to make my outfit a bit more festive.
I finished the outfit off with comfortable boots and added a little boho touch with a circle necklace and one of my favorite bracelets. I thought the tree closure was especially appropriate for the excursion. 🙂
Layering is always a good idea in this kind of weather. I started out cold and was glad I had dressed warmly enough, but quickly lost the scarf once we got out in the sun. After a bit of walking up hills, I ended up taking off my cardigan too. Luckily I brought a big tote to store my layers in!
When we were there, it was prime time for Granny Smiths so we picked a lot of those, but we also found a few other trees that still had apples on them. We found my favorite (cameos) and also picked up a few different kinds in the store. I made a really good baked oatmeal breakfast with some of the baking apples we picked out!
I’m still hoping for a return of fall weather (instead of winter!) but it was a great way to spend it while it was here. What is your favorite fall activity? Do you all love traipsing through apple orchards as much as I do? 🙂
