Today begins the “Twelve Days of Christmas”!
Are you still shopping for gifts? For me, a reminder that there are only 12 days til Christmas really makes me kick my butt into gear and finish my gift-buying. (Plus it gets the song in my head– so annoying.) If you are like me and still shopping for gifts, I have a list of ideas that are way better than any of the gifts in that song. I mean, who wants a partridge in a pear tree, right?
So without further ado… 12 gift ideas of all prices that will work for almost anyone on your list!
Mugs are perfect for everyone. They can be used for coffee or tea or just as decoration. Especially pretty ones like THESE initial mugs from Anthropologie. Only $5! I think the colors and details are absolutely beautiful.
Fun socks. I know we hated getting socks for Christmas when we were kids, but they’re kinda fun now, right? There’s something for everyone and make great little gifts or stocking stuffers. Get THESE for the donut lover, THESE for that friend who overuses emojis, THESE for the Christmas-obsessed, or THESE for the traditionalist.
Headphones: another great gift that almost anyone on your list will love! Noise-cancelling headphones are great for both music lovers and people who just need some extra quiet. I really need a good pair for work. I have my own office, but it has no ceiling so closing my door doesn’t do much to block out noise in the main area. I tried to convince our HR department to buy a cheap pair for me, but they said no 🙁 So I may have to buy them for myself! Haha.
Cozy scarves are a personal favorite of mine when it comes to both giving and receiving. It’s hard to go wrong with a scarf! THIS cozy one is super popular right now and comes in several colors. I also like THIS colorful plaid scarf and THIS blue and green one. If you’re shopping for a neutrals-lover, THIS scarf is perfect and is only $13. Since there are so many options for scarves, I linked a few more favorites at the very bottom of this post. Click on the picture to shop.
Movie gift card. This is an especially good gift for this time of year because who doesn’t want to spend a cold afternoon getting lost in a good movie? Are there any movies on your list? I’m looking forward to seeing Downsizing soon!
New York Times 36 Hours Book is perfect for anyone on your list with a desire to explore. The book series was created based on a newspaper column about traveling, and basically gives you an itinerary to follow for a weekend getaway. It provides restaurant recommendations, tourist must-sees, hidden gems, hotels, and tons of advice. I’ve used the book for small trips and I’ve lent it to my mom who is more of a traveler than I am. It’s also fun to just page through with no specific destination in mind.
A good watch is something that everyone should have. Whether you get a really nice one or a fun personalized one, you are sure to find something for whoever you’re shopping for. This WOMENS watch is gorgeous and I love the mix of gold and silver, this MENS watch is perfect for a gadget-lover, and this KIDS lego watch is super cute! For really unique watches, check out Uncommon Goods. Last year I got the equation watch for my engineer boyfriend.
Coasters, especially good for young adults who are settling into first apartments or homes. THESE glass state coasters are awesome because they’re personal and will be great conversation starters. But check out lots of others for anyone on your list HERE.
Leather duffel bag for short trips or weekends away. I got a nice duffel bag a few years ago and use it every time I go somewhere, whether it’s an out-of-state work trip or a short trip to my mom’s house. It’s something you don’t really know you need until you have it and realize how much use you get out of it. This is a great gift to give because it’s practical, versatile, and high-quality.
This book with helpful money management tips. Not the most exciting present, but I think it’s useful and thoughtful. This one is quick and easy to read and focuses on the things you can do now to better manage money.
If you are looking for other books to give, check out Barnes and Nobles’ holiday gift guide; they have tons of categories. Plus you get 20% off your order of $50+ with code GIFTED. Not a bad deal for us last-minute gift buyers!
Slippers are probably the best Christmas gift! Just my opinion. 🙂 Anyone would be happy to open up a pair of soft, comfy slippers on Christmas morning! I grew up moving back and forth between the Chicago area and Wisconsin, so I have owned plenty of slippers for those cold winters. I still wear them practically all the time and don’t understand how anyone can walk around their house in just socks! Haha!
My all-time favorite brands are Uggs and Acorn. Typically, Uggs have a slightly more substantial sole, while Acorn slippers are a bit more flexible but still provide plenty of buffer between your feet and the cold floors. Plus they have some really cute options. Look at those owl slippers– adorable!! I linked plenty more options in the widget at the end. Scroll through and just click the picture if you want to shop!
